Animals DVDA mit Quadroton [6092]

Im Netz kursiert momentan eine DVDA von "Animals".
Den Link zu "Demon***" nenne ich natürlich nicht, weil dort offizielles Material angeboten wird.
Auf dieser sind die Q8 Version (Cardridge-Band) und die SQ Version (Quadro LP).
Als Bonus ist "PotW" als Upmix in 3 Versionen enthalten (UK-Q8, US-Q8 und die Snowy White CD-Version).
1.
Wie konnte eigentlich eine Nadel vom Plattenspieler einen Quadroton abtasten?
2.
Es gibt die offizielle "PotW" Version in 2 Teilen und die Snowy White Version mit seinem Solo in der Mitte.
Was ist denn der Unterschied der beiden Q8 Versionen ?

Wie konnte eigentlich eine Nadel vom Plattenspieler einen Quadroton abtasten? Soweit ich mich erinnere, schwingt die Nadel für Stereo Horizontal, bei Quadro zusätzlich Vertikal.

Es gab keine Animals-Quadro...es gab in den USA Cartridge für Car-Hifi und Home...
Quadro gab es nur von Atom Heart Mother , Dark Side of the Moon und WYWH...
Diese PotW-Version war für die Endlos-Bandschleife der Cartridge extra produziert...
ich bin ja lernfähig , aber es wäre echt mal was Neues

Stimmt, so wie es aussieht, ist diese Version so gemacht, als hätte es sie gegeben.

There were so many bad news this year. So maybe as a light of hope
I want to give this special Xmas gift to you all out there.
Once there were plans to offer an official quadraphonic version of
ANIMALS as SQ-LP (Columbia JCQ-34474) and as Q8-tape (CAQ-34474).
Although they never saw the light of day, the rumours went on and on that some
tapes have still survived. After years of wait and hope people tried to make their own.
So you can find a lot of Animals upmixes out there.
Some are quiet good (Area 51) – some are not (BWHI).
So let’s see what we have here:
PINK FLOYD - ANIMALS - QUADRAPHONIC DOUBLE FEATURE
(Q8 & SQ VERSION + BONUS FEATURE)
This needs some explanation: Most people (and the Pink Floyd fans too)
know just the common Animals version (LP, CD …) but there were
Q8 versions (in stereo!) too. The hardcore-collectors know about the difference.
On the Q8 tapes the two parts of “Pigs On The Wing” are bridged by a
special guitar solo for continuous run of the Q8 tape. The solo itself was played
by Snowy White instead of Gilmour!!
As far as I know this version was never upmixed properly.
So you will get here:
ANIMALS with full separation quadraphonic sound.
ANIMALS as an imaginary Q8-tape quadraphonic version
(with Snowy White bridge solo in between “Pigs On The Wing”).
ANIMALS as an imaginary SQ-LP quadraphonic version
(with the normal track sequence and without the solo)
ANIMALS bonus feature with all 3 quadraphonic bridge solo versions of
“Pigs On The Wing” – upmixed from
UK-Q8 tape
US-Q8 tape
Snowy White’s Gold Top CD.
ANIMALS as a quadraphonic DVD-Audio with full 3-page menu and cover pictures.
The stereo sources were sliced to 6 mono channels with Plogue.
Then all of the channel’s mono waves were carefully remastered separately
‘cause the original remaster CD sources were over-compressed.
The source was the Japan Cardsleeve Remaster CD.
The bridge solo in the first mix is sourced from Snowy White’s Gold Top CD.
In the first moments this DVD-Audio sounds like a mono version – so be patient –
then the sound wave will swash over you
I’ve got still plans to do the normal version once again – then sourced from a professional vinyl transfer.
But that’s another story.
This project is dedicated to John from Canada!
DVD-Audio only !!!
No DVD-Video content !!!
No DTS content !!!
Caution for the nitpickers:
The are some small tiny crackles in the mix which are barely listenable
if you play it loud - and you should do!
These crackles were in the source already!!

hmm,  und da dachte ichselbst immer meine Animals-DTS-Scheibe ist echt... alles nur Schummel?? Es hört sich aber an wie DTS... vielleicht ist es ja nur ein privat erstellter Upmix
