13.08.2010: Wir erinnern uns noch gut an die Barrett-Mojo Ausgabe vom März 2010.
David Gilmour erwähnte damals, das er sich mit dem Gedanken spielt, eine Selektion von
Syd Barrett "Outtakes" aufzupolieren und auf einem Album zu veröffentlichen!!
Nun ist es soweit.

Das bisher unveröffentlichte 20-minütige Instrumenal "Ramadan" wird als Extra-Track zum Download mitgeliefert.
ey das ist ja mal ne schöne Neuigkeit! Hat jemand schon den Track?
Aber schade, dass "Living allone" und "Millionaire" nicht auf dem Album sind.

Also ich hab den Track nur in einer ca 2 min Version auf dem Bootleg-Sampler Rhamadam .
Das ist ein bischen Krach mit Bongotrommeln.
Der Krach entstammt einem Motor-Bike.  Laut Vernon Vitch´s Encyclopedia geht der Song 18 min so.

naja, ganz so stimmt das nicht. soweit ich weiß ist dieses 2 min. stück ein ausschnitt des 7min. track lanky part 2. zu diesen Fragmenten gibt es aber immer die unterschiedlichsten geschichten und namen.
Ramadahm ist in der Tat ein ca 18 min prcusionsinstrumental zu dem sich ab der 4 min. eine gitarre gesellt. und syd wollte dazu noch motorengeräusche mischen. der mix wurde dann aber wieder verworfen. die technik war damals noch nicht so weit um das wirklich gut klingen zu lassen 
und nun wird dieser gruntrack endlich der öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Da freu ich mich schon sehr drauf das teilendlich mal anzuhören

An Introduction To Syd Barrett OUT SOON!
On 11th October 2010 (9th November for North America), EMI/Harvest will release An Introduction To Syd Barrett, a brand new collection that brings together for the first time the tracks of Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett on one compilation, with David Gilmour being the executive producer of the album.
The album will feature five remixed tracks including 'Octopus', 'She Took A Long Cool Look', 'Dominoes' and 'Here I Go', with David Gilmour adding bass guitar to the last track. A bonus track, previously-unreleased instrumental of 'Rhamadan' will be available via digital download for a limited period.
'Opel', 'Barrett' and 'The Madcap Laughs' all get new designs!
Syd Barrett's only two albums and his second compilation album are all getting reissued with new artwork based on the original vinyl release. Each album will be released on 11th October.

So, der Postbote hat mir eben beide neuen Platten aus der Floyd-Familie gebracht.
Als erstes läuft natürlich die nie gehörte 20 min Version von Ramadan...
Mit Motorgeheule, gute Sound-Qualität.
Joa, was soll man sagen  Ziemlich abgedreht, jazzy könnte man sagen, auf jeden Fall psychodelic. Kommt schon etwas an den Mittelteil der Live-Version von IO ran, eben ohne markantes Riff...

Es gibt so viel Coverversionen von Dark Globe...aber niemand, nicht mal David Gilmour, singt es schöner als Syd...ahh...lang nicht mehr gehört.Wunderbar!
