Das sagt der Prospekt von Gloria Books dazu:
Scarfe On The Wall - Limited Edition Print Box Set, by Gerald Scarfe
The award-winning work of internationally renowned illustrator and cartoonist Gerald Scarfe has featured in newspapers, magazines and across the performing arts for over forty years. His collaboration with rock legend Roger Waters and Pink Floyd produced the most enduring musical multi-media concept in rock history, culminating in the nineteen-million-selling double album ‘The Wall’, plus the later feature film directed by Sir Alan Parker.
Originally commissioned by Pink Floyd to produce a series of animated sequences for the band’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ tour, Scarfe went on to design the album artwork, tour animation sequences and models for the historic album. His ideas were also seminal to the feature film, in which he contributed a fifteen-minute animated sequence, plus various other visual elements. His unforgettable imagery, including the characters of ‘Pink’ and ‘Teacher’, endure to this day as an intrinsic part of Pink Floyd’s visual identity.
Scarfe on the Wall is a celebration of this intense creative period. It consists of an authorised box set of six individually-signed prints of Gerald Scarfe’s images for ‘The Wall,’ plus two newly commissioned artworks by the artist, re-interpreting the imagery twenty-five years later. The six archive images in the box set have been individually selected by Gerald Scarfe and Roger Waters. The entire collection consists of exhibition-quality prints, each numbered and signed by the artist.
The collection also contains a unique, illustrated thirty-six page companion volume featuring early illustrations and working drawings from ‘The Wall’, plus an exclusive interview with Gerald Scarfe. Each book is individually signed by Pink Floyd founder member Roger Waters — a rare commercial participation from him on a project of this kind.
Scarfe on the Wall is strictly limited to an edition of 300 signed and numbered sets. To reserve your copy, call +44 (0) 870 279 7353 or USA (212) 714 5 505 or visit www.scarfeonthewall.com [Der Link verweist derzeit noch auf einen anderen Inhalt]
